Global Collaboration

Image
I think that global collaboration in the classroom is something that all teachers should try to do, especially in elementary and secondary education. Students will not only learn and benefit from the process but they will realize that the education system is different in other parts of the world and even the United States. This website includes 5 ways that students benefit from global collaboration. https://www.iste.org/explore/articleDetail?articleid=2129&category=Personalized-learning&article Image Source This website also includes projects that classrooms can get involved in to participate in global collaboration.

Gamification

One of our lectures was over Gamification, gamification can increase participation, engagement and even loyalty. Adding gamification to education can help students with their retention and provides an incentive in the classroom. As someone wanting to be a teacher I found this website   https://tophat.com/blog/gamification-education-class/  helpful because it provides examples for those wanting to add gamification into their classroom. Teaching Innovations

Because of technology there are more innovations that can help teachers and students in the classroom. The Ed Tech and Design online class is just one example of this, we were able to use a video chat room on our computers to have discussions with our professor. This is considered an innovation because we are learning without being present in a classroom. https://now.uiowa.edu/2016/02/teaching-innovations  Image Source

Benefits of Technology in the Classroom

Image
It is a fact that classrooms are starting to see more ways of technology being used, especially recently. Walking into any classroom you will see examples throughout the room, like a few computers at the back of the room, the SMART board at the front of the room, there may even be a tablet station somewhere in the room. But are there benefits to bringing technology into the classroom? A study by IT Trade Association CompTIA , released that about 75% of educators believe that technology has a positive impact in the education process. Adding technology into lesson plans could be fun for the students and help the learn more than what they might have without technology because students would have more access to information.
